What will my day to day look like?

While we don’t publicly share the itinerary online as this is such a unique custom designed itinerary (the only one of it’s kind!) this trip is made up for 50% snorkelling and 50% SUP, so expect to be in or on the water every single day!! We’ll start every day with a group breakfast at a local restaurant (included) and then be transported by open sided bus, small plane or private boat charter to one of the incredible activities below:

  • SUP along the coast to nearby island to snorkel with sea lions (approximately 8 km - includes support boat, towel and drinks)

  • Scenic flight to Isabela Island - see the Galapagos Archipelago from the air!

  • SUP through a group of islets in search of penguins and enjoy snorkelling in a protected lagoon

  • Hike an active volcano

  • Stop to see the famous Pink Flamingos and Waders

  • Private charter boat day, snorkelling and exploring a maze of incredible lava rock formations in search of sharks, sea horses, penguins, sea turtles, sea lions and many fish species

  • Full day boat adventure to snorkel with rays, turtles, sea lions (and maybe hammerhead sharks)

  • Explore one of the most spectacular white sand beaches in the Galapagos

Each evening you’ll have some downtime to reflect on your photos from the day, swim at a local beach in town, head for sunset cocktails with your new SUP friends and then finally meet the group for dinner at a local restaurant.

What kind of paddleboarding can I expect?

The SUP experiences on this trip are not about travelling great distances. They are all about leveraging our SUPs as vessels to have unique and close-up wildlife encounters that you will not find anywhere else in the world… it’s truly a SUP Safari! Ensure your camera is in a water proof case as you’re going to be wanting to use it all of the time during these paddles!!

Our paddles in the Galapagos are all varied in terms of conditions and locations, however one thing to note is that the majority of these paddles take place in ‘exposed water’ conditions (i.e. exposed to wind and swell). Therefore the water will not be flat like a river, it is likely to have some movement to it and experience in paddling exposed water environments will support you on this trip.

Compared to other international She SUPs adventures, many of the paddles on this trip are limited in terms of distance due to the strict permit requirements within the Galapagos. We are one of the ONLY SUP trips in the region and therefore our routes are authorised (a year in advance) by the National Parks Authority in order for us to run this trip. On our SUP and Snorkel Safari, we have one paddle of up to 10km scheduled, but the two other paddles are smaller 2-3km adventures. While the paddle distances may not be huge (in km’s), they are HUGE in WOW factor.

What kind of snorkelling can I expect?

This trip is made up of 50% snorkelling, so we will have many different snorkel experiences with all sorts of animals from playful sea lions to majestic hammer head sharks (if we’re lucky!). Some snorkel spots are close to shore, others will involve a full-day boat charter where we are taken to some iconic snorkel and dive spots out in the ocean. You should be confident snorkelling for 1 hour at a time before joining this trip and you must be a confident swimmer. Snorkel gear and wetsuits are provided so no need to bring your own.

The Galapagos is one of the most special places in earth. If you like being on and in the water (SUP and snorkel) and hanging out with like minded adventurous women, this is the trip for you.
