Friday:

  • We will awake on our first day and enjoy a continental breakfast at our accomodation.

  • Our first day of adventure will be a jam-packed one! We’ll have our first taste of paddling in the Mornington Peninsula with a private guided SUP tour in Port Phillip Bay with the backdrop of Wonga (Arthurs Seat).

  • A delicious picnic lunch of local produce will be provided for lunch.

  • In the afternoon we will head off for a relaxing afternoon at some of the world’s best thermal hot springs - the Peninsula Hot Springs.

  • We will close out the day’s activities by sampling some local wines of the region at a quirky and sustainable winery.

  • Coming back to our accomodation, you’ll have a chance to freshen up before we enjoy a group dinner together.

Saturday:

  • It will be an early start for as we head straight to the water to enjoy a lakeside breakfast to fuel up ahead of our next big day of adventure!

  • Today’s goal will be to explore as much of this area as we can, with our local guide taking us to two different SUP locations that morning.

  • We’ll spend 1-2 hours at our lake SUP adventure, where we will be keeping an eye out for kangaroos, while bellied eagles and turtles!

  • We’ll then change locations for a bay SUP adventure (1-2 hours) featuring a light snack stop on our SUPs.

  • Finally, after a full day of adventuring, we’ll return back to our accomodation to change (there may be an hour of spare downtime here for those who want a quick nap or to catch up with loved ones), before heading out to dinner at a local restaurant for an evening of sharing stories from the adventures we have just shared.

Sunday:

  • Sunday morning we will wake up early for a Sunrise Paddle & Beach Clean Up. We’ll be on the water as the sun pokes it’s head over the horizon, looking out for local dolphins and then give back to the incredible environment we’ve called home for the last 3 days by doing a beach clean up.

  • After our adventurous morning we will come back to our accomodation and head to a nearby cafe for brunch, before taking a final stroll along the beach to close out our magical adventure together.

  • A return airport shuttle will be provided around midday.

“This trip was a delight from start to finish. Many unforgettable moments - including lying on our boards meditating to the sound of birdsong, surrounded by Australian bush; paddling the coastline and rounding the corner to a stunning beach with crystal clear water and pure white sand; and plunging into an icy rock pool at a wonderfully rugged secret spot.”
— Janet, She SUPs guest 2023

Where we are staying

We will be staying in a unique and modern chalet that wraps around a commanding Moreton Bay Fig Tree in the small local town of McCrae. Just a short 600m walk to the beach, the chalet will provide a perfect central location for our weekend of adventure.

Hardwood floors, exposed beams and raking ceiling lines compliment the two distinct pods offering a total of 6 bedrooms, study and 2 living areas, kitchens, kitchenette and multiple living zones enabling our group to be under one roof, but with plenty of space so that you can enjoy some quiet time if you choose to.

Room Allocations

The majority of the group will enjoy single beds in a loft style shared room, however if you’d prefer a private double or the quieter twin room away from the main area of the house, we recommend that you book in quick as they are likely to sell out first.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • That’s perfect!! She SUPs trips and retreats are designed with single travellers in mind and we actually ENCOURAGE single travellers to book in alone rather than finding a friend to bring as you’re likely to get way more out of the trip. 90% of our attendees book in without knowing anyone. We guarantee that within the safe supportive environment that She SUPs cultivates, by the end of the weekend you’ll leave having had an awesome time with some new water-loving friends!

  • To make it easier to understand what’s in store for a trip, we rate our trips on a 0-4 Fitness Rating. This trip is a Level 2. This means a moderate level of fitness is required to enjoy this highly active trip featuring multiple bush walks and daily paddling.

  • To make it easier to understand what’s in store for a trip, we rate our trips on a 0-4 SUP Ability Rating.

This trip is a Level 2: Previous paddle experience in exposed water conditions like ocean facing bays will help you on this trip as some areas may have a little swell/moving water (no breaking waves). Most paddles are around 1-2 hours in length but having the stamina to paddle up to 3 hours (featuring lots of rest stops!) will ensure you feel comfortable.

As with all She SUPs trips and paddles there is no pressure to stand for the whole paddle. You’re welcome to sit or kneel whenever you want to.

  • With all outdoor based trips and retreats, the final itinerary is always weather dependent (with paddle boarding in particular being wind dependent). The weather forecast will be monitored daily (and in many circumstances hourly) by your instructors, and our itinerary will be adjusted each day to make the most of the forecast. If the wind is looking challenging for our paddles we will aim to find an area that may be protected so that we can still take to the water in a safe manner, however our route and distance may be reduced. If the conditions look unsafe to paddle for the whole weekend, your Host will find alternative activities for you to do.

We ask you to understand that we cannot offer a refund if the itinerary is different to your expectations or any itineraries referenced on the She SUPs website.

If we need to change an activity due to the weather or other forces outside of our control, you can guarantee that our team will be working hard to ensure you still have an action-packed weekend.

On this trip Alternative Windy Weather activities may include: bush walks, a candle making class, visiting local tourist destinations, a yoga class, a visit to a wine bar.

  • She SUPs Trips are open to all women (and non-binary individuals) over the age of 18. Typically most guests are between the ages of 25 - 70, but there is no maximum age limit.

When we’re out exploring on our trips, age becomes irrelevant as the whole group always bonds over their shared experiences and love of the outdoors regardless of the year they were born!

  • Your airport transfer to the Mornington Peninsula will depart Melbourne airport at 7pm. We recommend that you book a flight that aims to arrive 1 hour prior to this to avoid any risk of delays. If the whole group is ready to go prior to 7pm, your transfer can pick you up early.

If your flight is delayed and you miss our 7pm transfer, you may be required to make your own way down to the Mornington Peninsula. You should have holiday insurance to cover the cost of this.

Some paddlers like to book flights to arrive Thursday morning so that they can spend the day in Melbourne either exploring or working remotely (if possible), and then there is no stress about missing the airport transfer.

  • Go for it! Staying on before or after a trip is always an awesome way to make the most out of visiting an area.

If you’ll be staying in Melbourne before the start of this trip, we may be able to pick you up from a central location in Melbourne rather than the airport. Please discuss with us upon booking.

Please note, She SUPs does not have the capacity to support you in finding accomodation before or after a trip, but you’re welcome to ask for suggestions from others in the trip WhatsApp group.

  • She SUPs aims to offer a mix of shared and private rooms on each trip.

Many light sleepers or snorers choose to book a private room.

We offer shared rooms as a way of making trips more affordable and accessible to all. All shared rooms feature individual beds for each individual so you will never be required to a share a bed.

For many women, sharing a room with others is a new experience (or something they haven’t experienced since their teens!) But fear not, 9 times out of 10, it’s absolutely fine as an adult too.

If you’re a light sleeper and sharing a room, please let us know before arrival so we are aware. You host will have ear plugs in case of snorers, and we advise that you bring anything else that may help you sleep better such as your favourite pillow, an eye mask, a heat pack, lavender oil, chamomile tea etc.

After hosting hundreds of women on our trips, we have found that some guests don’t sleep very well on the first night as they are often subconsciously apprehensive about the weekend. But once they relax into the retreat and we’re keeping active every day, they sleep soundly every night! Please keep your host notified of your sleep patterns if you’re not getting much sleep. There will be plenty of nap opportunities during the day time too.

  • We do our best to cater for all dietary requirements where possible. Please share with us all requirements, allergies and intolerance’s at time of booking so we can take these into consideration when planning the trip menu. We do not have control over restaurants or cafes we visit during the trip, so please inform waitstaff of your allergies and intolerances at the time of visiting.

If you have complicated dietary requirements or are concerned about food, you are welcome to email the She SUPs team at hello@shesups.com.au (once you have confirmed your booking) to ask to see a rough plan of the trip menu prior to the trip so we can ensure you’ll be comfortable with what’s offered. Please note; the final trip menu may not be available until 1-2 weeks before the trip.
