Easy SUP mistakes and how to avoid them!

Heading out at your local beach, you quite often feel the gaze of others curiously staring at you. You head out onto the water, and you see a family stop and watch you as you head off into the distance and go from knees to standing. If paddling with friends, you’re probably caught up in conversation and having a great time already. If paddling solo - you may be conscious of others curiously watching for those first 5-10 minutes before finding your flow.

Therefore, with my goal to always empower you guys with as much knowledge as possible to ensure you’re feeling strong and confident on the water, I thought I’d cover some easy SUP mistakes and how to avoid them, so you know that when you hit the water, you’re going to be looking AWESOME and if anyone is looking at you, they will be looking in awe!

Why It's Important To Move For Your Mental Health

Did you know, being on, in, and near water can be among the most cost-effective ways of reducing stress and anxiety?

Introducing Kylianne Farrell…

A Paddle To Remember - Sydney Harbour

So I think it may have become apparent that I don’t do things by halves… particularly when it comes to birthdays and special occasions.

I’m also a rather big fan of dress-up, so She SUPs’ first birthday was always going to involve a theme and an excuse to get dressed up!! If you hadn’t guessed already, the theme I chose was ‘pyjama party’!

However, the question I was left with was WHERE do we go to mark the occasion?

Paddling Our Way Through Whatever Life Throws At Us

I've come to learn that many of our community find She SUPs at moments of transition. Many are coming out of marriages or break-ups, many are transitioning into retirement, many are transitioning into motherhood (or through the many stages of motherhood!), many are transitioning to a new environment/town/country and therefore seeking to make friends or most recently - many are transitioning into 'the new post-COVID19 normal'. I wanted to share this blog post today to send a message to all of the women of She SUPs to say, whatever you are going through, - we hear you and we are so glad you’ve found us.

What I Carry When I SUP

As paddle boarders, we are choosing to exercise and explore out in the wild… and therefore, much of our experience is outside of our control. The wind may pick up, our energy may start to lag, the sun could come out, we could find ourselves in difficult conditions and need to be rescued. However, to keep safe and minimise all of these risks we can… be prepared.
